What was the original inspiration for founding Cookinn Taiwan? For the founder, it came from a deep love for Taiwan’s food culture and a desire to share it with the world. In 2018, there was a boom in low-cost airlines, bringing more travelers to Taiwan. Yet, many visitors stuck to iconic spots like Taipei 101 and night markets without really connecting with Taiwan’s food culture.

"I wanted to offer tourists a more authentic experience," she says. "Cooking is a great way to connect with a culture, and I wanted to show people that there's so much more to Taiwanese cuisine than just night market snacks."

This vision sparked the creation of Cookinn Taiwan—not just a cooking studio, but a gateway to experiencing Taiwan’s vibrant food culture.

Reaching a Global Audience

Cookinn Taiwan’s guests come from all over: Europe, Japan, Korea, Hong Kong, and nearby Asian countries. Most travelers stay in Taiwan for 5 to 10 days, often with friends, family, or even solo.

“Many guests tell me our cooking class lights up their trip to Taiwan, giving them a deeper and more meaningful experience,” Chelsea said with a happy face, “That’s exactly what we aim for—creating unforgettable travel moments.”

From Class to Lasting Memories

Chelsea shares a heartwarming story: A couple from Norway took a Cookinn Taiwan class as part of their honeymoon, gifted by a friend. “ The class was so nice. We had a great time. We engaged a lot, ” Chelsea says.

A month later, she received an email: The couple recreated Taiwanese Xiaolongbao and beef noodles back in Norway, inviting the very friend who had gifted them the class. “Knowing our food and culture traveled back with them to their home is incredibly meaningful. It’s moments like these that remind us why we do what we do.”

The Challenge: Managing Multi-Platform Bookings

Cookinn Taiwan offers 6 cooking classes and 12 DIY experiences, covering iconic Taiwanese dishes. Managing bookings across so many products and platforms was a major challenge.

I think the key to our business is to manage multiple channels. Each channel brings its own traffic to us, so we can gain as many customers as possible. But with so many channels, we have to manage the bookings even carefully to avoid overbooking or to avoid customer complaints.”
